"Walking In High Heels" - Release
Jeremy Crutchley & The Standing Wave
Video shoot of “Walking In High Heels”
Some very talented cast and a young, cutting edge film crew came together in December 2010 for the video shoot of “Walking In High Heels” from the album “RELEASE”. Cape Town University’s Michaelis campus was alive with technicians, leggy blondes, brunettes and redheads (not just the ladies but the lights), musicians, producers and directors, wardrobe and make-up artistes… all intent on delivering an epic music video. All the pre-production work swung into full gear with an immense amount of coverage to achieve; the broad outlines were planned yet allowed for that exciting, spontaneous creative edge that can only be captured in the electricity of the day.
For his first foray into the art of the music video, Crutchley has scripted and directed an offbeat take on an upbeat blues-rock number unashamedly capturing something of the timeless, elusive mystery and irresistible inspiration of the high-heeled woman. Unapologetically low-tech, yet shot on the best HD camera, this video has a unique vibe and vision, lovingly Retro and evoking a timeless world of Film~Noir while remaining totally contemporary.
In short; it rocks. It wants to rock you.
